Changing Information Related to a Money-Services Business Licence

If you need to make changes to information previously provided for a money-services business (MSB) licence, you have to complete form SM-25-V, Money-Services Business: Application to Change Licence Information.

  • Complete Part 5 of form SM-25-V.
  • Complete form SM-3.A-V and enclose any requested documents.
Appoint a new respondent 
  • Complete Part 3 of form SM-25-V.
  • Complete the applicable parts of form SM-3.A-V.
  • Enclose an official document confirming the respondent's appointment (if form SM-3.A-V needs to be completed).
Change an address
  • Complete Part 2 of form SM-25-V.
Change an MSB respondent's information 
  • Complete Part 3 of form SM-25-V.
  • Complete the applicable parts of form SM-3.A-V, Declaration of a Person Associated With a Money-Services Business.
Change information concerning a person associated with the MSB
  • Complete Part 5 of form SM-25-V.
  • Complete form SM-3.A-V and enclose any requested documents.
Change information provided on form SM-3-V
  • Complete Part 4 of form SM-25-V.
  • Complete the applicable parts of form SM-3-V, Money-Services Business Licence Application.
Remove a person associated with the MSB
  • Complete Part 5 of form SM-25-V.
Withdraw an MSB's licence to operate
  • Complete Part 6 of form SM-25-V.
Deadlines for notifying us of a change

The MSB is required to notify us of any change to the information it provided. The table below gives the deadlines for notifying us.

Previously provided information (other than the MSB's list of employees whose duties are unrelated to the offer of money services) 15 days after the end of the month in which the change occurred
List of the MSB's employees who work in Québec and whose duties are unrelated to the offer of money services  March 31 of the year following the year in which the change(s) occurred
Cessation of the MSB's activities 15 days before the date on which the MSB expects to cease activities
Where to send the application

You can send the application by secure email or by mail.

By secure email

Secure email must be initiated by one of our employees. If you want to send us form SM-25-V by secure email, call us at 1 800 567-4692 (option 5). You will be given instructions on how to register for our secure messaging service.

By mail

Send form SM-25-V and any required documents to the following address:

How the application is processed

We will review the requested changes on receipt of form SM-25-V and all required documents.

If your form is incomplete or a document is missing, we will send you a letter about the missing information or documents.

When we have all the required information and documents, we will make the requested changes.
