You Start Receiving Employment Insurance Benefits

If you pay support, are employed and get paid on a regular basis, your employer will withhold the support you owe through source deductions.

If your situation changes and you start receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, you still have to pay support and must inform us of the change. For example, you can inform us in My Account, by secure email or by phone. Our contact information is in the Contact Us section.

We will then mail you a payment order. Once you receive it, you must pay support directly to us. If you can show us proof that you are receiving EI benefits, you will not have to provide security.

Note
Note important

Receiving EI benefits does not relieve you of your obligation to pay support. If you stop paying it, we may deduct it directly from your EI benefits.
