If you are the owner or right-holder of unclaimed property, you can recover it or the proceeds of its liquidation after they have been remitted to the state, provided you meet the conditions and pay the fees for the provisional administration of the property.

We do not preserve the property in kind, but you can apply to receive the proceeds of liquidation (after fees and taxes).

Fees

The Regulation respecting the application of the Unclaimed Property Act, made by Order in Council 584-2015 dated June 30, 2015, provides that fees are to be charged for services rendered in the provisional administration of unclaimed property and liquidation of unclaimed succession property.

Fees are based on the cost of the services rendered and are subject to goods and services tax and the Québec sales tax. They are indexed to the cost of living each year, with the next indexation scheduled for April 1, 2025.
