Power of Attorney for Advance Payments of the Tax Credit for Home-Support Services for Seniors
You can appoint a person, such as a friend or family member, to deal with Revenu Québec on your behalf by filing a power of attorney for the purposes of your advance payments of the tax credit for home-support services for seniors.
By doing so, you grant the person the right to view and modify the documents and information we need to process your advance payment applications. In addition, you allow us to share information with that person.
You may be required to pay back your advance payments if you no longer meet the requirements for claiming the tax credit or if your situation changed during the year. Moreover, if you received advance payments during the year but no longer reside in Québec at the end of the year (on December 31), you still have to file an income tax return.
You can grant a power of attorney by:
- using the online service in My Account for individuals for granting an authorization or a power of attorney
- completing form MR-69.MD-V, Power of Attorney for Advance Payments: Tax Credit for Home-Support Services for Seniors
- completing form MR-69-V, Authorization to Communicate Information or Power of Attorney
Unlike form MR-69-V, form MR-69.MD-V can be used to request that correspondence about your advance payments of the tax credit be sent directly to the person you appointed to represent you.
This power of attorney does not authorize the person to use the online services in My Account.
You can also view or revoke a power of attorney in My Account.
For information about using the service in My Account that lets you act on an individual's behalf (if an authorization or power of attorney was granted other than by using form MR-69.MD-V), see the Authorization or Power of Attorney page.
For advance payments of the tax credit for home-support services for seniors, form MR-69.MD-V replaces form MR-69-V, Authorization to Communicate Information or Power of Attorney. If you granted power of attorney using form MR-69-V, it will remain valid until the end of the period stipulated in the form. Once that power of attorney has expired, you can renew it using form MR-69.MD-V.
