You can get information about your file and your recent notices of assessment in My Account. You should start there before contacting us.

You can get your notice of assessment number to register for the Government Authentication Service in My Account for individuals. It's the quickest and easiest way.
You need a valid power of attorney if you contact us about another person's file.

You can make a phone appointment only to get information on the following:
- income tax
- capital gains and losses
- instalment payments
- online filing
- the simplified income tax return

Note
To confirm your identity and guarantee the confidentiality of your information, you'll need your social insurance number and two recent documents from us, such as:
- a notice of assessment or determination
- an account statement
- another document we sent you
If you can't provide the required information, we will not be able to provide you with information about your file or make changes to it.

Before contacting us, see our FAQs or check out the online services in My Account since those resources can probably give you the tax information you need.
To contact us, select By Secure Email under Contact Us at the bottom of all pages in My Account.
Access My Account for individuals
You're not registered for My Account for individuals
We cannot provide personal or confidential information in emails sent to your personal address. If you would like information about your tax file, please call us.
After reviewing your message, we will do one of the following:
- phone you
- send you a non-secure email (which will not include any confidential information)
- put a message in your secure inbox in My Account for individuals
You may receive an email notification that a new message is in your secure inbox.

Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At our offices, you can:
- make payments
- get forms
- drop off documents
Note that you cannot meet with an agent or request copies of documents.
