We process your shelter allowance application based on the information it contains. You must therefore quickly inform us of changes in your situation.

These situations can change your eligibility or the amount of your payments:

• The details of your dwelling change (there is a change in your rent, in the services it includes, in your mortgage interest, your municipal taxes or your school taxes [if you own your dwelling], your dwelling becomes subsidized, etc.). 
• You and your spouse separate or you have a new spouse. 
• Your spouse dies. 
• The number of people who share housing costs changes. 
• You leave Québec or come back to live here. 
• You are confined to a prison or similar institution. 

If you experience one of these situations between the time you send us the application and September 30, 2025, you must immediately inform us in one of these ways:

Complete a new Shelter Allowance Application (LEX-165-V) and/or a new Statement of Rent (LEZ-14-V), depending on the information you want to change, and mail the form(s) to:
