Shifting to the WEB-SRM in Your Restaurant Establishment
Shift to WEB-SRM: Schedule the installation of a certified SRS now. You may be entitled to a three-month extension to have it installed.
Consult the letter Urgent reminder – Just a few more months to transition to the WEB-SRM under the new measures (PDF Document – 66 KB) addressed to all restaurant establishments concerned.
This page is for you if you operate a restaurant establishment and you're still using a physical sales recording module (SRM) in your establishment. The information will help you shift to the new cloud-based IT solution (the WEB-SRM).
You must make the shift by May 31, 2025.
- Exceptionally, you may be entitled to a three-month extension, as of June 1, 2025, of the deadline for installing your WEB-SRM–compatible certified SRS. To learn more, click Summary of the Exemption Granted by the Minister Respecting Restaurant Establishments Equipped With an SRM and Whose Certified SRS Will Be Installed After May 31, 2025.
- We can help you shift to the WEB-SRM. Check out the free online presentations we offer and sign up online.
Required equipment
Click Required Equipment to learn about the new IT solution and to get more information on certified sales recording systems (SRSs) compatible with the WEB-SRM.
Authorization codes
You must have an authorization code to configure the certified SRS(s) you'll use in your establishment to communicate with the WEB-SRM.
To simplify the shift to the WEB-SRM in all restaurant establishments, we sent authorization codes to operators who hadn't yet requested one. If you're registered for My Account for businesses, you can go to the communications centre to see the letter with your authorization code.
If you didn't receive your authorization code, contact us.
To learn how to configure your certified SRS(s), click Configuring the Sales Recording System.
Deactivating and reinitializing your SRMs
You're not required to deactivate or reinitialize the SRM(s) in your restaurant establishment in order to start using the WEB-SRM.
If you want to deactivate or reinitialize your SRM(s), you must do so after installing and configuring your new certified SRS(s).
To learn more about deactivating and reinitializing SRMs, see IN-577-V, SRM User Guide.
SRM recycling program
We encourage you to use our simple, free and green SRM recycling program to safely destroy all confidential information in the modules.
Otherwise, you can deactivate and reinitialize your SRM(s) yourself or get an installer authorized by Revenu Québec to do it.
Filing periodic sales summaries
You must produce and file all required sommaires périodiques des ventes (periodic sales summaries), including the one for the month you start using the new IT solution. The summary can only be produced as of the first day of the following month if the SRM has not been deactivated.
