Under the Regulation respecting the application of the Unclaimed Property Act, the information in the register regarding a succession, financial asset or other property is kept:

• in the case of a succession, for 10 years from the date of death
• in the case of a financial asset or other property,
  • for 10 years from the date the amount was remitted to the Minister of Finance, if the amount is less than $500
  • for 30 years, from the date the amount was remitted to the Minister of Finance, if the amount is $500 or more
