Products developed or adapted must help employers to file:

• most RL slips online
• all RL slips and summaries on paper 

Users 

Users of the products are:

• individuals in business (self-employed persons) 
• corporations 
• partnerships 
• government departments and agencies 
• any other legal entity 

Mandatory online filing

As of January 1, 2024, anyone filing more than 5 RL slips of the same type (other than RL-13 or RL-24 slips) must send them to us online in an XML file using the Transmitting RL Slips service.

Anyone filing fewer than 6 RL slips of the same type, fewer than 51 RL-24 slips, or any RL-13 slips can send them to us online (using the Transmitting RL Slips service) or by mail (on paper). For paper RL slips, only copy 1 of each slip must be sent to us. 

Consequently, we are counting on our product developers to create online transmission functions for RL slips.
