A stronger authentication procedure
To better protect the confidential information we have on file, we have changed the way we confirm a business's identity over the phone. When you call us, be sure to have two recent documents on hand, such as:
- a notice of assessment
- a collection or refund notice
- any other document from us
If your business is already registered for My Account for businesses, you will find these documents there.
If you cannot give us the information we ask for, we will be unable to access the business's file or make any changes.

If you are asking a question by secure email, make sure to give a phone number where we can reach you because we will answer by phone and not by email. When we call, you will need certain confidential documents (such as the business's last notice of assessment or consumption tax return) to confirm your identity. Also, to view or make changes in the business's file, you need to be an authorized representative or have a valid power of attorney.
Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At our offices, you can:

- drop off documents
Note that you cannot meet with an agent or request copies of documents.
