End of note

If you would like to know the processing status of your income tax return after you file it, use the View Your Income Tax Return Information for the Current Year online service. Note that you must be registered for My Account for individuals to use the service. If you are not registered, you can use the Refund Info-Line to get information about your return online or by telephone.

Once your return has been processed, we will send you a notice of assessment indicating whether you have a balance due or are entitled to a refund. For information about your options for paying a balance due or receiving a refund, see Balance Due, Refund, and Instalment Payments.

Other pages in this section also provide information about the premium payable under the Québec prescription drug insurance plan and the option to increase or reduce the amount of income tax withheld at source by your employer or payer.

For information about the penalties and interest applicable in certain situations to payments or refunds, see Penalties and Interest.
