Enter in box C the total amount paid under an advanced life deferred annuity (ALDA) contract, other than:

• amounts to be entered in box B (see Box B - ALDA);
• the refund of excess premiums (see the conditions at Return of Excess Contributions or Refund of Excess Premiums).

Death benefit

The amount in box C includes the death benefit paid to a beneficiary as a refund of all or a portion of the premiums paid to acquire an ALDA, including to the qualifying survivor of the last annuitant of the ALDA.
