Application for Designation as a Recognized Educational Institution

This form is intended for educational institutions in Canada that:
- do not provide programs that count toward university credits; and
- want to be recognized by the Minister of Revenue as an institution providing training that lets students acquire or improve skills needed for an occupation.
2025-09 version
To apply for designation as a recognized educational institution for the 2026 taxation year, the institution must file the 2025-09 version of this form—even if it already filed the 2019-11 version of the form for 2026.
Otherwise, the tuition or examination fees that your students pay in 2025 or 2026 for training given in 2026 will not be eligible for the tax credit for tuition or examination fees.
