How Applications Are Processed
We will send you or your representative a letter after we receive your voluntary disclosure. The letter will include a reference number you can use when you contact us.
Evaluation
We will first evaluate your file to confirm whether it is eligible under the voluntary disclosure program.
We may contact you for additional information or documents.
Classification
We will then analyze the facts in your application and determine what category of the voluntary disclosure program it falls under. The program has the following four categories:
- General program
- Limited program
- Wash transactions
- Duties on the transfer of an immovable
Program relief is tailored to the type of non-compliance and the category.
For more information about these categories, see interpretation bulletin ADM. 4/R8, Voluntary Disclosure Program, on the Publications du Québec website.
Your application is accepted
If your application is accepted, we will contact you to confirm the relief granted. You will also be sent notices of assessment.
You will not be sent another letter of confirmation.
Your application is denied
If your application is denied, we will contact you to explain why and send you a letter confirming the decision.
There is no right of objection under the law for you to dispute a discretionary decision that denied relief or allowed only partial relief. However, you can file a request for administrative review.
For more information, see interpretation bulletin ADM. 4/R8, Voluntary Disclosure Program, on the Publications du Québec website.
