Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Click Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) to see whether the measures adopted by Revenu Québec apply to the information on this page.

A charity whose registration we have approved. The charity may be registered as a charitable organization, a public foundation or a private foundation.

Notes
  • Even if a charity is already registered as a charitable organization, a public foundation or a private foundation, its designation may be changed at its own request or at our discretion. For example, a registered charity may apply to be designated as a public foundation rather than a private foundation.
  • In the information return, a registered national arts service organization is considered to be a charity registered as a charitable organization.
  • As of January 1, 2016, a charitable organization is automatically deemed to be registered in Québec on the day it is registered as such by the Canada Revenue Agency. However, we reserve the right to refuse, cancel or revoke a registration or modify a designation.

For information on registering a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency, see Apply to become a registered charity on the Government of Canada website.
