An individual who meets the following requirements after March 19, 2025:

• They are 18 or over.
• They are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• They did not occupy, as a primary place of residence, a home located in Canada or outside Canada during the current year or any of the four previous calendar years while they themselves or their spouse or de facto spouse owned:
  • the residential complex;
  • all or part of the building the residential unit is located in;
  • a share of the capital stock of a cooperative housing corporation that entitles them to own the residential unit (if it is located in Canada);
  • a share of the capital stock of, or an interest in, an entity that is similar to a cooperative housing corporation that entitles them to own the residential unit (if it is located outside Canada).
