To be qualified, the contractor must be a person or a partnership with an establishment in Québec, other than a person who is an owner of the dwelling or who is the spouse of one of the owners of the dwelling. In addition, where the execution of the work requires a licence issued under the Building Act, the contractor must hold the appropriate licence.
