When responding to questions from the media, Revenu Québec's chief concern is providing clear, accurate and detailed information to the public in a way that is both thorough and transparent. However, given that the confidentiality of taxpayers' files is protected under the Tax Administration Act, Revenu Québec cannot disclose any information contained in a file without the consent of the individual or business in question, or unless the information is the subject of legal proceedings or a resulting court decision.
