• A change is made to your personal (including banking) information.
• We detect abnormal activity in your file.

You can sign up for notifications:

• when you file your income tax return
• in My Account at any time
• by contacting us

You will stay subscribed to notifications until you unsubscribe.

Make sure your email address in My Account is up to date so you never miss a notification.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from notifications or change your email and text communication preferences at any time in My Account or by contacting us. You will get one final confirmation message.

If you call us, you will need your social insurance number and two of the following recent documents to confirm your identity:

• a notice of assessment or determination;  
• an account statement;
• another document we sent you.

Important messages in your secure inbox

If you received a notification about an important message in your secure inbox, you can view the message in two ways:

• log in to My Account for individuals;
• contact us. 

Confidentiality

Protecting the confidentiality of your information is very important to us. We go to great lengths to make sure that our communication policies are secure. Online communications containing personal information or documents are only sent to your secure My Account inbox.
