New Residents
You are a new resident if you have recently established residential ties with Québec. A new resident can be:
- a refugee
- a person who has applied for permanent resident status from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and has obtained it
- a person who has either received approval-in-principle to stay in Canada from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or a selection certificate from the Québec government; (such as a foreign student)
- a person who previously lived in another province or territory in Canada
