An eligible apprentice mechanic is an individual to whom one of the following situations applies:

• He or she is registered in a program leading to a certificate in mechanics, painting or body work for the repair of self-propelled motorized vehicles (automobiles, trucks, aircraft, motorcycles, etc.).
• He or she holds an apprenticeship card issued by a parity committee of the automobile industry for the purposes of obtaining a designation as a mechanic, painter or body-work specialist licensed to repair self-propelled motorized vehicles.
