Financial Education Program for Secondary Students — Teaching Materials
As consumers from a young age, students already contribute to the financing of public services and social programs. Sooner or later, they will also enter the workforce, where they will be called upon to further contribute by reporting their income and paying taxes. As these services and programs are fundamental to ensuring the basic quality of life of all Quebecers, understanding the importance of this responsibility is an essential part of students' financial education.
Thorough and adaptable teaching materials
Designed to meet the goals of the Financial Education Program for secondary students (PDF document – 1,096 KB) put together by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur, our teaching materials include four learning and evaluation situations (LESs) to help students:
- learn about remuneration, taxation, tax evasion and consumption;
- develop their ability to take a position on a financial issue.
Each LES was developed in conjunction with a team of content and pedagogical experts who are on top of evolving legislation and familiar with teachers' everyday reality.
Our thorough and adaptable teaching materials will keep students interested as they learn about the tax system.
