Tax Credit for Recent Graduates Working in Remote Resource Regions: Enhanced Recognition of Post-Secondary Studies

Tax legislation will be amended so that individuals who begin to hold an eligible job after March 20, 2012, and within the 24 months following the date on which they either successfully completed training leading to a recognized post-secondary diploma or obtained a recognized master’s or doctoral degree under a program of instruction requiring the writing of an essay, a dissertation or a thesis, may receive a cumulative amount of $10,000 in the form of a tax credit for recent graduates working in remote resource regions.
