Regional tourism associations (RTAs) that ask the government to impose a tax on lodging in their territories are now able to state a preference for the tax of $2 or $3 per overnight stay or the tax of 3% of the price of each overnight stay.

RTAs of tourism regions where the $2 or 3% tax already applies must submit a new request to the government if they want that tax to be replaced by the $3 tax.
