Subsidy Program for Restaurateurs: Equipment Acquired by Rental or Leasing

Revenu Québec has established the subsidy program for restaurateurs to support restaurant establishments that are required to acquire sales recording modules (SRMs) to produce bills. The program also covers the acquisition or update (by purchase, rental or leasing) of the equipment required for SRMs to work.
To find out the terms and conditions under which a subsidy may be granted for the acquisition of a cash register, point-of-sale system or receipt printer under a rental or leasing contract or comparable arrangement, refer to the publication entitled Requirements for Leased or Rented Equipment Under the Subsidy Program for Restaurateurs (IN-574.A-V).
Since September 1, 2010, all restaurant establishments that are subject to the new measures have been required by law to provide bills to their customers. Also, by November 1, 2011, restaurant establishments that are Québec sales tax registrants must produce bills by means of an SRM.
