Gradual Fuel Tax Increase

In the Budget Speech of March 30, 2010, the Minister of Finance of Québec announced a gradual increase in the fuel tax over the next few years.

Through 2013, the regular fuel tax rates of 15.2 cents per litre of gasoline and 16.2 cents per litre of diesel fuel are to be increased by one cent per litre on April 1 of each year.

Review of the reduction in the fuel tax applicable to gasoline in border regions

The measure pertaining to the reduction in the fuel tax applicable to gasoline in border regions of Québec adjoining Ontario, New Brunswick and the United States will be reviewed to determine whether any amendments are necessary.
