On April 16, 2014, Revenu Québec announced in a press release that individuals who are not reporting business income would have until May 5 to file their 2013 income tax returns without incurring interest or penalties.

A similar extension has now been granted to individuals reporting business income, as well as to the spouses of such individuals. Accordingly, the deadline for paying a balance of income tax due is now May 5, 2014, rather than April 30. The deadline for filing their income tax returns, however, remains June 16, 2014.
