Since the regular filing deadline (April 30) falls on a Sunday this year, you have until May 1 to file your 2016 income tax return and pay any income tax you may owe.

If you or your spouse earned business income, you have until June 15 to file your return. Any balance owing, however, must be paid by May 1.
