Possible Canada Post Service Disruption
In December 2024, the federal Labour Minister, referring the matter to the Canada Industrial Relations Board, required unionized employees to return to work until the end of the current collective agreement on May 22, 2025.
Postal service may again be disrupted, which would directly affect anyone receiving social benefits by cheque.
Distribution of cheques
In the event of a service disruption, Canada Post will provide essential services once a month, which will allow us to distribute the following cheques:
- support payments
- shelter allowance payments
- solidarity tax credit payments
You will therefore receive these cheques in July.
