Disability Supports Deduction
If you have a disability, you can deduct any expenses you paid to acquire goods or services that enabled you to:
- carry out employment duties;
- actively carry on a business;
- do research for which you received a grant; or
- attend a designated educational institution or a secondary school.
The expenses must have been paid in the year for which they are being claimed and must not have been included by anyone in calculating an amount for medical expenses.
For more information, see point 7 in the instructions for line 250 in the guide to the income tax return (TP-1.G-V).
For more information on the tax assistance to which you may be entitled, consult the publication entitled Tax Benefits and Persons with Disabilities (IN-132-V).
