Application for Advance Payments of the Tax Credit for Childcare Expenses

You must apply for advance payments of the tax credit for childcare expenses for a given year by October 15 of that year.

Online

Use the service in My Account for individuals for applying for advance payments of the tax credit for childcare expenses.

Required documents

You must attach the following documents to your application:

  • documents supporting your or your spouse's situation;
  • a copy of form TPZ-1029.8.F.A-V, Childcare Expenses Qualifying for the Tax Credit: Fees and Number of Days of Care, completed by the childcare services provider or that person's representative; 
  • birth certificates for eligible children born after December 31 for whom you are applying for advance payments of the tax credit for childcare expenses, or the attestations of birth issued by the hospital where they were born.
Important
You do not have to provide the birth certificate or the attestation of birth if you have already provided it to us.
By mail

To apply by mail, you must:

  • complete form TPZ-1029.8.F-V, Tax Credit for Childcare Expenses: Application for Advance Payments;
  • have form TPZ-1029.8.F.A-V, Childcare Expenses Qualifying for the Tax Credit: Fees and Number of Days of Care, completed by the childcare services provider or that person's representative.

Required documents

You must enclose the following documents with your application, depending on your situation:

  • one or more documents supporting your or your spouse's situation (such as a a pay slip, confirmation of a research grant, or a document attesting to the operation of a business, an active employment search, enrolment in an educational program or the receipt of parental insurance benefits);
  • a photocopy of the birth certificate issued by the Directeur de l'état civil for each child born after December 31, 2018, or a photocopy of the attestation of birth issued by the hospital where each child was born.

You must send forms TPZ-1029.8.F-V and TPZ-1029.8.F.A-V and the required documents to one of the addresses below:

As a rule, we determine the amount of the advance payments to which you may be entitled within 45 days of receiving your application.

To see the date and the amount of the last payment made and information about your application, use the online service in My Account for individuals for viewing advance payment of the tax credit for childcare expenses files.

Note

You must be registered for direct deposit in order to receive advance payments.
