If you receive payments of the solidarity tax credit and you owe a debt to the government, the Tax Administration Act allows us to use those payments to pay your debt.

However, if the family income used to determine the amount of the solidarity tax credit to which you are entitled is $21,470 or less (indexed annually), we will use only 50% of the amount of each payment of the credit to pay your debt.

If you receive social assistance payments from the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, you already benefit from a similar measure.
