The sales recording module (SRM) is covered by a 5-year transferable warranty provided by the supplier, IBM Canada. The warranty begins on the date the SRM is first activated. However, it does not cover the work time and travel expenses charged by the installer to deactivate a defective SRM or to activate a replacement SRM.

Technical assistance no longer available for some first generation SRMs

As of October 1, 2019, some first generation SRMs are no longer under warranty and will no longer be repaired by the supplier, IBM Canada, since those SRMs are obsolete and many of their parts are unavailable.

A first generation SRM is a model AEC 6822 C3 1010 with a serial number beginning with P10 or P11. The model and the serial number are on the sticker on your SRM's outer casing.

If your first generation SRM (with a serial number beginning P10 or P11) is still under warranty, the warranty remains in effect.

Repair service is still available for all models whose serial number begins with P14, P15, P16 or P18, regardless of whether or not the SRM in question is under warranty.
