Any trust operating a commercial enterprise in Québec that is not administered by a registered trustee must register with the Registraire des entreprises and pay the applicable fees, pursuant to the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises.

A trust operating a commercial enterprise also has other obligations toward the Registraire des entreprises every year following the year in which it registered, and within 30 days following the date on which there was a change that affects the information previously provided.
