My Account for Individuals

My Account is a personalized space where you can fulfill your tax obligations and manage your tax file online in a secure and confidential setting. It's the fastest way to get certain documents and information, such as your recent notices of assessment or confirmation of an accelerated refund.

Signing in

Before you can access My Account, you must confirm your identity using one of the following two options. After that, you can register or sign in.

Your financial institution (sign-in partner)

This is the fastest and easiest way to access My Account if you do not have a clicSÉQUR account or a recent notice of assessment.

Using your financial institution (sign-in partner)

The first time you use a sign-in partner, you will have to follow the steps below:

  1. Click Access My Account below.
  2. Under “How to Authenticate,” click your financial institution's logo.
  3. Choose a language for the Interac® Registered sign-in service.
  4. Select your financial institution again.
  5. Sign in using your regular online banking credentials.
  6. Read and accept the Interac® Registered sign-in service terms and conditions.
  7. Provide the required information:
  8. Follow the instructions to register for My Account.

Need help?

If you need help accessing My Account through your financial institution (sign-in partner), you can:

clicSÉQUR (Québec government authentication service)

You must be registered to use clicSÉQUR. If you are, you do not need a new clicSÉQUR account to use My Account. Click Access My Account below, log in to clicSÉQUR and follow the instructions to access My Account.

If you have forgotten your clicSÉQUR user code or password, you will have to confirm your identity again.

Using clicSÉQUR

Follow the steps below to register for clicSÉQUR:

  1. Click Access My Account below.
  2. Under “How to Authenticate,” click clicSÉQUR (Québec government's authentication service).
  3. In the New User box to the right of the screen, click Create an account.
  4. Choose an identifier.
  5. Enter your email address.
  6. Enter the code sent to your email.
  7. Choose your security questions and enter the answers.
  8. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
  9. Enter the following:
  10. Confirm your identity and follow the instructions to sign up for My Account.

Your responsibilities

Online transactions conducted using your identifier and password have all the legal effect of transactions carried out in accordance with written and signed instructions from you. This includes transactions carried out using the service that allows someone to act on your behalf.

You are responsible for making sure the information in your profile is up to date and accurate. We use the email addresses and phone numbers (for texts) on file at the time these communications are sent and cannot be held responsible for the use of incorrect or outdated contact information.

Communication with you

Your My Account includes a secure inbox where you will find messages from us related to the laws, programs, agreements and treaties we administer, apply and enforce.

To access your inbox, you must open a secure session by entering your identifier and password.

Email or text notifications

If you have given us your email address or a cell phone number that can receive text messages, we can send you an email or text notification in the event of a security incident (or potential incident) concerning your confidential information. When we send a notification, you will also receive a message in your secure inbox in My Account. You can unsubscribe from notifications or change your email and text communication preferences at any time in My Account or by contacting us.

Consent to receiving correspondence online only

You can consent to receiving all communications from us online in My Account whenever possible. Consent is valid until you revoke it; if you revoke it, we will send your correspondence by mail.

We will notify you using the email address in your profile each time a new message is sent to your My Account inbox.

In My Account, you can view documents such as your notice of assessment, your notice of determination for the solidarity tax credit and other documents related to your income tax return and benefits. In addition, you can view communications regarding the shelter allowance program or support payments.

Confidentiality of information

We protect the confidentiality of data and maintain security measures in accordance with our legal obligations.

Data preservation

All transaction data transmitted to us is stored in our data banks and constitutes proof of the transaction in the same way a paper document would.

Transaction data also includes a My Account access record.

Changes in conditions for use

We can modify the conditions governing the use of My Account at any time, without prior notice, by posting the new conditions on our website. You agree to consult the site periodically. By continuing to use My Account, you indicate that you accept the changes made by us.

Access to My Account

Access to My Account is not subject to a time limit.

We can suspend or revoke access to My Account at any time and without notice if there is reason to believe that the conditions for use have not been met or a fiscal law has been violated. This applies to both you or any individual acting on your behalf.

We can also suspend or revoke My Account access if the service remains unused for too long.

We can cancel My Account access if an event (such as death) changes the conditions under which you registered. You can cancel your My Account access at any time.

Accessing another person's My Account

In some situations, you can get access rights to another person's My Account by means of the service for allowing someone to act on another person's behalf. However, to use this service, the person must have granted you an authorization or general power of attorney.

The following can be used to grant an authorization or general power of attorney:

  • Form MR-69-V, Authorization to Communicate Information or Power or Attorney, or a handwritten letter;
  • A document establishing your right to access the person's My Account using the service allowing someone to act on another person's behalf, including:
    • a notarial act
    • a homologated incapacity mandate
    • a judgment
    • a will

Using the service, you will be able to view or modify some information in the person's tax file, based on whether you have an authorization or power of attorney. An authorization or power of attorney is valid indefinitely, unless an end date has been fixed.

A liquidator of a succession may be able to act on behalf of the deceased even if access rights have been deactivated due to death.

Availability of My Account online services

We can temporarily change or interrupt all or part of a My Account online service at any time, without notifying you in advance.

We can permanently change or interrupt all or part of a My Account online service with advance notice.

Our website contains links to other sites. Providing these links does not mean that we approve the content of the sites in question or any connecting sites (relating to products, services or equipment, for example).

Legal system

Any dispute that may arise regarding an application for registration for My Account or the conditions for use of My Account is governed by Québec legislation. You acknowledge the jurisdiction and exclusive competence of the courts of Québec in this respect.
