Businesses have no legal obligation to inform Revenu Québec of their firm names. Therefore, Revenu Québec does not keep a record of all the firm names used by a business. If no firm name is on file, Revenu Québec will display the name under which the business operates.
Validation process
The QST registration number to be validated has 16 characters: ten digits, followed by the letters TQ (for the law concerned) and four more digits.
Example: 9999999999 TQ 0001
