- Be registered for My Account
- Be resident in Québec
- Be designating property located in Canada as a principal residence
- Have lived in Canada for the entire time you owned the property
- Have ordinarily inhabited the property (you, your spouse, your ex-spouse or your child must have ordinarily inhabited the property)
- Have sold the property you are designating as a principal residence
- Not be required to report a capital gain on the property because the designation applies to either of the following:
- every year that you owned the property
- the year a real servitude encumbering the property was established
