If Your Child No Longer Requires Unsubsidized Childcare Services, Let Us Know Using My Account

If you receive advance payments of the tax credit for childcare expenses and any of the following changes occur during the year, make sure you notify us quickly so that you do not have to repay any amounts you received:

  • One or more children concerned by your application for advance payments no longer require or will no longer require childcare services (this will affect the amount of your next tax credit payments).
  • All of the children concerned by your application for advance payments no longer require or will no longer require childcare services (in this case, your advance payments for the year will stop).

Note that you will need to provide us with the revised number of days of childcare. You can ask your childcare service provider for this information.

You can tell us about the change quickly using the Change Advance Payment Information: Tax Credit for Childcare Expenses online service, which is available in My Account for individuals.
