File Them Together: The Annual or Current Updating Declaration and the Income Tax Return
Natural persons that operate sole proprietorships registered with the Registraire des enterprises must update their information annually under the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises.
Sole proprietorships (individuals in business) eligible to file the income tax return and the annual or current updating declaration together may do so in one simple operation. If the information the Registraire des enterprises has on file about a business is correct, it is simply a matter of checking the appropriate box on the personal income tax return (form TP-1-V).
If there are changes to the information to be reported, updates must be made using the online service, Produire une déclaration de mise à jour annuelle, available on the website of the Registraire des enterprises. The online service can also be used to file an annual or current updating declaration even if there are no changes to be reported.
Individuals in business are required to pay the annual registration fee no later than April 30 of each year, when filing the income tax return.
