Requirements for Advance Payments of the Work Premium

To receive advance payments of the work premium during the year, you must file an application with us. At the time of your application, you must:

• be on the labour market 
• be resident in Québec 
• have been 18 years of age or older on the first day of the month in which you filed your application or have been under 18 years of age given that no one is entitled to receive the child assistance payment with regard to you in that year
• estimate that you will be entitled to an annual work premium of more than $500 (if you designated a child as your dependant), or more than $300 (if you did not designate any dependant) 
• agree to receive payments by direct deposit (the bank account must be in Québec)
• not be incarcerated

If you and your spouse both believe you are entitled to claim the work premium for the year, only one of you may apply for advance payments.
