Complaint
If you feel that Revenu Québec has not given your problem the attention it deserves, you may file a complaint with the Direction du traitement des plaintes (DTP). This branch of Revenu Québec is responsible for ensuring that complaints receive proper treatment and for resolving tax-related problems.
Although the DTP has no decision-making power, it may nonetheless give an opinion concerning the decision rendered by the Revenu Québec branch in charge of reviewing your file. It may also highlight aspects of your file that you failed to point out when you presented your case.
You will be advised by telephone or in writing of the response to your complaint and the underlying reasons.
- Important
- Please note that filing a complaint with the Direction du traitement des plaintes is not a substitute for the other means of recourse available to you, and does not prolong or suspend the prescribed deadlines for such recourse. Consequently, if you wish to file an objection or an appeal, you must do so within the prescribed time limit regardless of whether you have filed a complaint with the DTP.
How to file a complaint
When you file a complaint, you must provide the following information:
- your name, your address and the telephone number where you can be reached (and, if applicable, the name, address and telephone number of your representative);
- your social insurance number;
- your registration number or your identification and file numbers, where applicable;
